Goodwill Hunting & Link Goodness

We have had some nice sunny days here on the wet coast this last few days. Today it went back to the usual rain and overcast. Friday, which happened to be payday, I went to "Tijuana on the Sky" to do some shopping. I stopped to have lunch at "Taco Bell" after wandering around "Lowes" home improvement center and drooling at all the goodies ensconed therein.

I picked up some PVC fittings for my hoophouse and some oak dowels and 1"x2" for making my take-down bow saws for our "INCH" bags (I'm Never Coming Home). They should be fairly nice once they are completed.

"Tijuana On The Sky" has a Goodwill store that I have made several trips to lately. While there the last couple of times, I scored what I consider Big Time!

I found three Dell keyboards, 1 new and 2 nearly new, a Vector 95 watt Pocket Power Inverter, 3 Linksys routers (WRT54G and earlier "B" versions), new or nearly new Tee-shirts and some books. The routers were from some broadband I-net provider who must have been upgrading to the latest and greatest.

A sample of what I found there bookwise:
World War Z, The Road, A Canticle for Liebowitz, 3 books on programming with Visual Basic (a hobby of mine), 1 on SQL (database stuff), several Sci-Fi books, and Titus Crow by Brian Lumley (think H.P. Lovecraft, Horror classics).

I have also found a Thermos brand vacuum bottle in S.S. as well as two very high quality kitchen knives, made of stainless and with very nice rosewood handles. No markings on them at all, but by looking at them you can tell that they are not cheaply made! There were a few garden seed for $.29 per packet, a giant tomato tree, and some plastic planters. I thought the planters were a little over priced but I bought 2 anyway.

While snoopin' round the .net, I came across a few links I would like to share with you all.

  1. I've had some good finds at Goodwill lately too. I love shopping the bargain tags. I got 4 short sleeve shirts, collared with pockets, at 50% off, a small pitcher and a glass for $7.50 last week.
